Staunton City Schools is gearing up for its first annual Back-to-School Bash, scheduled for July 21 and 22 at Staunton High School. The event, which runs from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both days, aims to help families prepare for the upcoming school year by providing a range of free resources and services.
Attendees can expect to receive school supplies, backpacks, clothing, shoes, and books to take home. Free haircuts, hygiene products, and school registration assistance will also be available. For rising 7th and 12th graders, immunizations will be offered on Monday, July 21. In addition, families can enjoy food and snacks while connecting with local community partners and organizations.
Nate Collins, the Executive Director of Student Services for Staunton City Schools, expressed excitement about the event, highlighting the district's commitment to supporting students and families. "This event is all about preparing our students and families for a strong start to the school year," Collins said. "It’s a reflection of our commitment to kindness, caring for their overall well-being, and making sure our students and families feel supported and confident heading into a new school year."
