Governor Glenn Youngkin issued the order Tuesday night to honor the lives of two-officers who were shot and killed in the line of duty at Bridgewater College. The flags will remain lowered through sunset Wednesday.
Youngkin says he is heartbroken following the tragedy at Bridgewater Tuesday. Youngkin said that campus police officer John Painter and safety officer J.J. Jefferson were dedicated to their jobs of keeping everyone safe on campus.
Youngkin went on to say “The First Lady and I ask Virginians to keep their family, friends, and the Bridgewater community in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
