Sad news for sandwich lovers—Lola’s Delicatessen, a go-to spot in downtown Harrisonburg, is closing sometime in June. The exact date isn’t set yet; owners Lauren Penrod and Logan Strawderman said they’ll keep things going until they run out of ingredients.

After more than seven years of slinging sandwiches, they’ve decided not to renew their lease. One of the biggest reasons? The cost of ingredients and supplies keeps climbing, and it’s just not sustainable anymore.

In a heartfelt message on social media, the owners said this goodbye is a bittersweet one. They gave a big shoutout to their hardworking staff over the years and, most of all, to the customers who kept them going—from regulars and friends to travelers just passing through.

“You’ve all been such a gift,” they wrote. “Thanks for cheering on our little deli.”
