Lindsay Lohan Is Officially Back — And She’s Bringing Anna Coleman With Her!
Lindsay Lohan’s big-screen comeback isn’t just a return — it’s a full-blown Lohanaissance, and she’s celebrating it front and center on the cover of Elle’s Summer 2025 issue. In the feature, Lohan opens up about her journey back to acting, her love for Disney, and what it was like stepping into Anna Coleman’s shoes again for Freakier Friday, the sequel to the beloved 2003 film Freaky Friday.
In one scene from the upcoming movie (out August 8), Lohan is back on stage as Anna, jamming with her band Pink Slip in full rockstar mode — guitar solo, red lipstick, sequined mini, and all. Yes, that’s really her playing and singing. Watching it, one thing is clear: Lindsay Lohan is so back.
She first stole hearts at 12 in The Parent Trap and followed it up with early 2000s hits like Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. After a long break from Hollywood, Lohan told Elle that she started journaling during the pandemic and manifesting a comeback. “I kept writing, ‘I want to work with Netflix,’” she shared. And she did — starring in three romantic comedies for the platform between 2022 and 2024.
But she had her sights set on Disney, too. “I definitely want to do my first feature back with Disney,” she said. Enter: Freakier Friday.
The film revisits Anna Coleman, now an adult with a daughter of her own. Lohan stars alongside Jamie Lee Curtis once again, and says returning to the role felt surprisingly natural. “There’s a comfort with it that you don’t find in a new character,” she said. “It’s evolved. It felt fun, fresh, and easy.”
For fans who grew up with her, this sequel is more than a movie — it’s a nostalgic full-circle moment. And for Lohan, it’s proof that with patience, vision, and a little manifestation, comebacks really do come true. We can't wait for August 8th!
