Taylor Swift’s next album hasn’t even dropped yet, but it’s already making history. On Sunday (Aug. 31), Spotify confirmed that The Life of a Showgirl has become the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in the platform’s history. The record was previously held by her 2024 blockbuster, The Tortured Poets Department.

Spotify first rolled out the Countdown Page for The Life of a Showgirl on Aug. 14, pairing it with an exclusive playlist titled And, baby, that’s show business for you. The collection features 22 of Swift’s older tracks, all produced by her frequent collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, giving fans a taste of the sound shaping her latest era.

This milestone adds to Swift’s long list of achievements on Spotify. In 2024, she was the service’s most-streamed artist, amassing more than 26.6 billion global streams. She has also set multiple streaming-day records across previous releases, underscoring her unrivaled presence on the platform.

Swift announced The Life of a Showgirl on Aug. 12, just months after wrapping her career-defining Eras Tour. The reveal came in a surprise appearance on New Heights, the podcast hosted by Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce. In a teaser clip shared online ahead of the full episode, she confirmed both the title and the Oct. 3 release date. The project, her 12th studio album, will include 12 brand-new tracks produced by Martin and Shellback.

Her most recent release, The Tortured Poets Department, arrived in April 2024 and dominated the charts, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the biggest first-week sales of her career. The album went on to spend 17 weeks at the top and secured Swift a seventh Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.

Spotify celebrated the new record on its social channels Monday morning, spotlighting Swift’s latest streaming milestone and hinting at the massive anticipation surrounding her upcoming project.
