Benson Boone is sharing his outlook on the "hard" experience of navigating when "people leave your life."
While at his concert in Nashville on Tuesday (September 9), the "Magical Mystical" singer spoke with the crowd about how "terrible" it feels when someone who was once a part of your life is no longer in the picture, regardless if it was for the right or wrong reasons, per People.
"Sometimes people leave your life," he said. "Whether it's the right thing or the wrong thing. And it is always hard — always, every single time."
The cryptic comment came days before TMZ reported that he and influencer girlfriend Maggie Thurmon have gone their separate ways. The outlet states alleges the "Beautiful Things" singer and the influencer, both 23, had been dating for around three years but only went official on Instagram last year.
"And it sucks to sit in it, and it sucks to be sad about it, and it sucks to feel that so hard sometimes," Boone continued. "But it's okay, it's life. It happens. And as terrible as it is, there's always something or someone who can pull you out of it."
In a fan video shared to TikTok, the musician appeared to get emotional as prepared to sing his 2022 song "In the Stars," telling the crowd that while he typically thinks that writing the track helped him, "singing this song tonight is going to help me a lot" and he hopes the audience can feels the same.
"I hope you enjoy this song tonight because this song means something very special, and I hope you take home something from this night," he said. "And if it is this song, if it is any song, let it be the next three and a half minutes because I promise you, this means everything to me."
