Just days afterย Bad Bunnyย was confirmed as the headliner for theย 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show, political controversy has already surfaced.

During an October 1 interview onย The Benny Show,ย Corey Lewandowskiย โ€” a longtime Trump campaign manager who now advises the Department of Homeland Security โ€” said thatย ICE agents will be present at Leviโ€™s Stadiumย in Santa Clara, California, when the game takes place on February 8, 2026.

โ€œThere is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally,โ€ Lewandowski stated. โ€œNot the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find you and apprehend you.โ€

His comments followed Bad Bunnyโ€™s announcement, which drew global attention as the Puerto Rican superstar previously avoided U.S. tour dates over fears that immigration enforcement could target his audiences. The artist explained in September that those concerns, not dislike of the country, motivated his decision, emphasizing:ย โ€œIโ€™ve performed there many timesโ€ฆ all of them magnificent.โ€

Lewandowski also criticized the NFL and Roc Nationโ€™s choice of Bad Bunny, calling it โ€œshamefulโ€ and claiming the performer โ€œseems to hate America.โ€ He suggested the league should have chosen โ€œmore inclusiveโ€ acts to โ€œbring people together.โ€

Bad Bunny, who debuted at the Super Bowl in 2020 alongside Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, has not commented on Lewandowskiโ€™s remarks.
