Taylor Swift’s fans are once again using their collective power for good — this time to fight hunger across America. As millions faced the possible suspension of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) amid the ongoing government shutdown, a fan-led group called Swifties for Hope launched a campaign encouraging $13 donations to Feeding America, echoing Swift’s signature lucky number.
The campaign’s post on X featured a glittery orange banner reading “We protect the family,” referencing Swift’s song “Father Figure.” The group — a coalition of fans focused on democracy and activism — shared links to support food banks nationwide, emphasizing that community action can make a real difference as the White House prepared to pause SNAP benefits.
The move follows news that the U.S. Department of Agriculture warned it could not fund food stamps during the shutdown, though a federal judge has since ordered payments to continue.
This initiative mirrors Swift’s own charitable track record. During her Eras Tour, she donated to food banks in every city she visited. Swifties have also raised over $100,000 for a young cancer patient and $2 million for otter conservation inspired by the pop star’s kindness.
