#GoodNews: Teen Who Walks 5 Miles To Work Surprised With New Car

Jayden Sutton is a high school senior. Every day after school he walks from school to his job at a restaurant and then back home. He was saving up to buy his own car after his mother was laid off and her car was wrecked. Jayden says he'd leave school at 3:30pm, walk to work, and walk home, sometimes not arriving back until almost midnight.

"I knew if I had to walk to work every day to get a car, that's what I was going to do. "If I had to walk home, then that's what I was going to do."

That all changed when Lavonda Wright Myers saw him walking down the road in the rain in December and gave him a ride to work

"He was smiling in good spirit and that's a child worth blessing.”

Lavonda shared Jayden’s story on a GoFundMe page and raised more than $9,000. She used the money to buy a car and surprised him with it.

Jayden’s mother says this act of kindness "has blown her mind.”
